Alejandrina “Alex”, a TDLR-certified massage therapist with over 20 years of experience, is dedicated to making professional therapeutic care accessible to vulnerable members of the San Antonio community.
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas.
Humanitarian values, loving kindness, and deep compassion are the foundations of what family and community mean to me. That is how I was raised — and that is the heart of Kneaded to Live’s mission.
Texas currently has no nonprofit that does what Kneaded to Live was founded to do.
We bring together two powerful forms of care that are almost never offered side-by-side:
Gentle, tailored techniques for different sensory needs and physical limitations. Sensory-friendly environments. Mobile sessions for those who cannot easily travel.
Communication and social skills. Self-care including cooking, movement, and hygiene. Vocational readiness. Independent living and navigating the community with confidence.
This is not just massage.
This is not just life skills.
It is a pathway to dignity, independence, and belonging for people who are too often left behind.
Your support makes this work possible.
Every Veterans Day weekend, Alex volunteers at Band of Runners events, providing sports massage therapy to military personnel. Your donations extend this expert care to veterans year-round—addressing PTSD-related muscle tension, combat injuries, and chronic pain management.
Many seniors in San Antonio live with untreated chronic pain, arthritis, and mobility issues. Therapeutic massage reduces inflammation, improves circulation, and restores quality of life for those who cannot afford regular care.
Specialized massage therapy helps manage spasticity, nerve pain, and musculoskeletal complications for people with disabilities—improving daily function and emotional wellbeing.
Trauma-informed bodywork creates a safe space for healing. Massage therapy reduces cortisol levels, relieves trauma-stored tension, and helps survivors reclaim agency over their bodies.
With over 20 years of therapeutic expertise specializing in sports injuries, chronic pain, and recovery support, Alex provides targeted massage therapy at Band of Runners events to help runners address common challenges like hip pain, knee pain, sciatica, and sports-related injuries.
Her evidence-based approach combines traditional massage techniques with complementary therapies to optimize athletic performance and accelerate recovery. Donations help cover travel expenses and equipment costs to bring these professional therapeutic services directly to the running community.

“Almost immediately, and continuing to the next day, I felt relief and improvements.”
“I met Alejandrina at the Band of Runners Trail Running Camp, and during the quick session she provided, she was able to address some of my hip and thigh problems. What is amazing is she listens to my concerns, tries to find what is wrong, and shares what she finds in other parts affecting and related to my pain.
Before the session started, she asked more in-depth questions about my history and muscle pains (which was plenty) and later began to work her way through. What impressed me even more is her knowledge of the human anatomy, muscles, insertion points, etc.
Not only did she massage the areas, but she also incorporated joint and body movement along with the massage. She explained everything and suggested stretches, exercises, and movements that could help decrease and mitigate pain in those areas. Almost immediately, and continuing to the next day, I felt relief and improvements. Since she is also a runner, she totally understands what my needs are.
I highly recommend Alejandrina to anyone seeking a massage therapist to address or relieve pain, or even for relaxation. She listens to the concerns and applies her best knowledge and experience to help her clients. I am certain she will figure out the needs of anyone under her care.”
One hour. One person. Immeasurable relief.
Chronic pain doesn’t discriminate—but access to treatment does. Right now in San Antonio, elderly residents on fixed incomes, disabled individuals, combat veterans, and abuse survivors are living with untreated physical and emotional pain.
A 60-minute therapeutic massage can break the pain cycle, lower cortisol levels, and restore a sense of safety in their own body—often for the first time in months or years.
